Discover the Beauty of Leu Gardens Orlando – Part I
Nestled in the heart of Orlando, Florida, Leu Gardens is a hidden gem for plant lovers, nature enthusiasts, and anyone seeking inspiration in the world of botanic beauty. In this first installment of our two-part video series, I take you through the winding garden paths, tropical landscapes, and curated plant collections of Leu Gardens Orlando, one of the most beloved public gardens in the Southeast.
With over 50 acres of meticulously maintained grounds, Leu Gardens offers an incredible variety of plant species—from towering camphor trees to vibrant bromeliads and lush palms. In Part I, we explore the southern section of the garden, where the tropical stream garden and palm collection steal the show. You’ll also get a taste of the garden’s historical roots as we move past the Leu House Museum and stroll through seasonal blooms.
Whether you’re planning a visit or just love armchair garden touring, this video is packed with botanical eye-candy and design inspiration. It’s especially perfect for anyone interested in subtropical plantings, sustainable landscape design, or simply enjoying the peace that comes from beautiful green spaces.
Be sure to check back for Part II, where we’ll dive deeper into the rose garden, butterfly garden, and other specialty collections that make Leu Gardens a must-see destination.
Leu Gardens Orlando Hidden Gems – Part II
Welcome to Part II of our Leu Gardens Orlando tour, where we continue our walk through one of Florida’s most beloved public gardens—this time with more personal insights and a few unforgettable plant encounters.
In this video, we’re once again joined by Eric Schmidt, Leu Gardens’ longtime Botanical Records Specialist and tour guide, whose passion for plants and warm smile make this visit feel like a stroll with a dear friend. Eric has dedicated years to this garden, and his deep knowledge shines through as we explore the lesser-known corners of the grounds.
While we didn’t have time to visit every single highlight (like the dry garden, rose garden, and thousands more plant varieties), this second part of the tour gives you a vivid taste of what makes Leu Gardens Orlando a truly unique botanical destination. From towering trees to unexpected plant names—yes, “Sausage Tree” still makes us giggle—there’s always something to discover.
As I edited this video, I found myself smiling every time Eric did. There’s so much joy in what he shares. I hope watching this feels like you’re walking right beside us.
If you ever get the chance, visit Leu Gardens in person—and if you’re local, consider becoming a member to support this incredible place. For the music lovers out there, the soundtrack features “Lovely Ghost” and “Little Sandy” by Binkley, chosen as a playful nod to Florida’s tropical, laid-back vibe.
Leu Gardens Orlando is a place of education, beauty, and delight. Enjoy the tour!
