My Journey to the wonderful world of gardens

Ever since I can remember, I have been fascinated with plants.
My grandma would take us through beautiful gardens when I was a kid, and I grew up admiring the sparse but in no way boring desert landscape of Arizona. I was always drawn to the peaceful and beautiful places wherever we went, and I would find myself lingering as long as I could in these gardens, desperate to absorb whatever the plants had to offer.
I graduated university with a degree in sustainability,
and held a variety of jobs in the natural food, alternative transportation, and intentional community worlds. All this time, I was working with gardens on my own time, slowly circling this passion that was growing roots in my soul My first professional engagement with plants began in 2021, when I started working as a landscaper and professional nurserywoman. Since then, I have held a variety of positions in public gardens, nurseries, doing landscape maintenance and design, and just being a general Jill-of-all-trades in this industry.

Finally, in 2023, I decided to pick up a camera.
I had been smitten by people like Monty Don, thought-leaders in the garden community who share the incredible work of landscapers and gardeners around the world. But unfortunately, I didn’t see any of our local Oregon gardens receiving the recognition they deserved. So one day, I had a lightbulb moment, and thought to myself: “well, lets try and make a video”. I called up some of my garden designer friends, and we started making well-intentioned but pretty amateur videos.
Fast-forward a few years, and I am still loving every moment! I have learned a lot, and am privileged to have been invited into some fabulous gardens. I don’t have any intention of stopping any time soon, so please stick around and enjoy the ride!
